Innovation Networks Manager

UCL Innovation and Enterprise is seeking to appoint an Innovation Networks Manager, who will play a central role in enabling UCL academics and researchers to interact with groups of businesses through participation in innovation networks, industry clubs and communities of practice, which will allow participants to share and discuss common industry and technological challenges and opportunities, and identify research-based solutions that will allow industry partners to collaborate with UCL on pre-competitive projects with the potential to impact on business sectors in the long term.

The role holder will be responsible for developing and establishing a portfolio of networks across UCL, including supporting existing network initiatives in Faculties and departments, that will be adopt good practice in the design and operation of communities of practice so that all business and UCL members will benefit and the networks can sustain long term industry interest, so positioning UCL as a key innovation partner and location in London.

The role holder will be part of the Business and Innovation Partnerships unit, and will work closely with a team of senior partnership managers who engage with business and other stakeholders in key industry sectors, including pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, creative industries and the built environment.

Understanding and experience of building successful communities of practice and open innovation networks will be desirable, as will a knowledge of good practice in innovation and technology management to create new business value.
