Library Administrator - Ancient Egypt and Sudan

Part time: 4 days per week

Fixed Term: until 30th April 2018

The British Museum is seeking a Library Administrator to provide administrative assistance to the library of the Department of Ancient Egypt and Sudan, working closely with the librarian for the successful delivery of a range of specific library projects.

In this role you will assist with a variety of duties in the library, including supporting research scholars, assisting with the cataloguing of acquisitions, and facilitating the requirements of library and Study Room users. The post-holder will also manage the transfer of duplicate library stock to the Egypt Exploration Society.

Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant area, the ideal candidate will have demonstrable administrative experience within libraries. Foreign language skills and proficiency in IT is essential.
