Research Assistant

University of Edinburgh - Centre for Dementia Prevention – Division of Psychiatry

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Research Assistant to join the team at the Centre for Dementia Prevention, based in the Edinburgh BioQuarter. This is an opportunity to support the delivery of a longitudinal, observational cohort study investigating risk factors of Alzheimer’s disease in a mid-life population (http://preventdementia.co.uk). You will support study recruitment, data collection through the administration of psychological tests and other questionnaires and data entry. Some out of hours/weekend work may be required.

You should work well as part of a multidisciplinary team and be willing to travel across different research sites within Edinburgh. You should have a BSc/BA in relevant subject e.g. psychology/nursing and should have an interest in the area of dementia. The candidate should ideally demonstrate prior experience of formulating, planning and carrying out a research project and some experience and knowledge of the use of neuropsychological assessments. This is an ideal position for someone interested in a career in research.
