Applications are invited for the post of Administrative Officer in this friendly, busy and supportive team based at 5 Worcester Street in central Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to develop their experience and provide high-quality administrative support for two important areas of research administration within the Research Services team at Oxford: primarily the John Fell Research Fund and Committee but also the work of the University’s Research and Innovation Committee.

The John Fell Research Fund is an internal research fund of approximately £5million p.a. which aims to support areas of strategic importance across the University. The University’s Research and Innovation Committee is responsible for University policy and planning issues relating to research, knowledge exchange, innovation, and public engagement with research.

As the Administrative Officer within the Team, you will be a crucial liaison point, handling a wide range of enquiries from administrators and academics in departments and divisions in relation to the Fund, support the operation and administration of the Fund and provide administrative support for a number of Committees.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable enthusiasm for organisation and efficiency, will be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, be good at paying attention to detail and working to a high standard of accuracy, and will be fully at ease using databases, spreadsheets and other electronic systems in order to manage their work. Ideally we would like the post holder to be full-time, however consideration will be given for requests to include flexible working arrangements at 0.8 FTE.
