Laboratory Supervisor for Experimental and Preclinical Imaging Centre

University of Leeds - Faculty of Medicine & Health

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to support the running of a new multi-modality preclinical imaging facility in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities? Do you have experience in radionuclear imaging techniques? Do you have an understanding of basic electronics and electronic circuit design?

You will be responsible for the operational running of a British Heart Foundation funded experimental and preclinical imaging centre, with a focus on radionuclide imaging, which opened in January 2017. The centre has the latest generation of multi-modal imaging equipment, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) 7 Tesla, positron emission tomography (PET)/single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)/computed tomography (CT), optical imaging, ultrasound and micro computed tomography (µCT). Working closely with a multi-disciplinary research team, including medical physicists with particular expertise in MRI and basic scientists, you will support a research programme with a focus on cardiovascular imaging of rodent models, but which also includes other disease models.

You will have a BSc and MSc (or equivalents) in Medical Imaging (technology), or a closely allied discipline, and an interest in preclinical research. Previous experience using radionuclear imaging techniques and an understanding of basic electronics and electronic circuit design (on theoretical and practical level) is essential.
