Transition and Retention Programmes Co-ordinator

0.4 FTE (Fixed term 18 month contract)

Newman University Student Support Services is seeking a Transition and Retention Programmes Co-ordinator to support university-wide strategies to improve and enhance student engagement and success. 

The post holder will be responsible for delivering our successful transition programmes targeted at new students to aid their entry to, or progression within, higher education.

The post is offered on a 0.4 FTE basis. The ability to work flexibly and alter working patterns during August – November when the transition programmes are being delivered is desirable.

Applicants must possess a first degree and have previous professional experience of delivering study skills support within a further or higher education environment, including advising students with a complex range of issues on a one-to-one basis. Knowledge of academic regulations and procedures or a willingness to develop knowledge in this area is essential. A teaching qualification and prior experience as a personal tutor is desirable.

The start date for this post will be late December 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
