Histology Technician

The Royal Veterinary College, University of London - Pathobiology and Population Sciences

You will be working as part of a busy team providing a wide range of histological techniques. These will include the processing, embedding and sectioning of all types of tissues from various species (both surgical and post mortem) for routine diagnostic and research purposes. Other daily tasks will include performing all aspects of specimen cut-up and special stains. There will also be an expectation to support and be involved in our expanding immunohistochemistry service and have a willingness to learn new techniques in other laboratory disciplines. Duties will also include general tasks within the Diagnostic unit.

Previous experience in histology and immunohistochemistry is essential with familiarity of working within a demanding service environment. You should have a degree or equivalent, be flexible in your approach and work to a high standard. The ability to work unsupervised would be expected.
