About the role:

IT Services provides support to over 30,000 students and staff across our main campuses and partnerships. As Assistant Director within the service, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, and support of all ARU applications, overseeing the management of all application vendors and suppliers and all solution development including application integration and Business Intelligence Systems.

With a higher degree or relevant professional qualification at postgraduate level, we would expect you to be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of managing an Information Systems or Application Management Service.
  • Successful implementation of business applications into large and complex organisations.
  • Ability to plan strategically and manage operationally, motivating and engaging staff.
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouses and other Business Intelligence technologies.
  • Managing suppliers and multiple large support contracts.
  • Experience/ability of budget control and management in large organisations.
  • Confident to drive through change.
  • Appropriate technical knowledge and understanding gained through a professional background in solution design and/or development.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with ability to work consultatively whilst ensuring a consistently high standard of service.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and well-developed influencing and negotiating skills.
