Our University Library are pleased to advertise for an Archivist to join their team on a permanent basis. As the post holder, you will develop and ensure the preservation of the institutional archives of the University of Leicester, and of the other archives held by the University to make them accessible to all users by appraising, sorting, arranging, cataloguing and publicising the material. You will play a critical role in ensuring that the management of these collections are conducted in accordance with professional standards and legal and institutional requirements. You will also provide expert advice to University managers to inform decision-making on development and management of the University’s archival holdings.

As the successful candidate, you will have a postgraduate qualification in Archives Administration and substantial experience of working in a professional role within an archival environment. It is important that you have detailed knowledge of international and national cataloguing and archival description standards. This opportunity would suit an individual who is highly organised and has excellent interpersonal skills. We look forward to receiving your application.
