Senior Research Associate in Impact Engineering

We are seeking a full-time Senior Research Associate to join the Solid Mechanics and Materials Engineering research group at the Department of Engineering Science. The post will be based in the Begbroke Science Park, is funded by Rolls-Royce, Defence Agencies and other industrial partners and is fixed-term to 30 September 2020.

The postholder will work on a number of projects on the response of materials to high strain rate loading. In particular, you will be responsible for the development and use of novel experimental techniques and diagnostics to measure this response.

You should possess a PhD in a relevant discipline, and demonstrable knowledge and research experience for diagnostic development and experimental characterization of rate dependence of materials.
