Digital Communications Manager

The Department of Medicine has approximately 900 staff, research income of £70M and an annual turnover of £130M. We are seeking to appoint an experienced professional to the post of Digital Communications Manager. The post-holder will support and enhance the wide-ranging research and teaching activities in the Department of Medicine, developing and delivering a Departmental communications strategy for internal and external stakeholders. 

On a day-to-day basis the Digital Communications Manager will take the lead in developing and delivering Departmental communication and promotional activities, proactively identifying opportunities across a range of digital media, whilst planning, designing and creating new content. They shall have responsibility for monitoring engagement, user experience and outcomes, to ensure optimal benefits for the Department. The successful candidate will also be the key contact for support to Departmental website editors, sharing advice and best practice guidance with colleagues.

The post-holder will be educated to degree level, and ideally hold a recognised marketing or communications qualification.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a large and complex organisation, ideally within the Higher Education sector and a sound knowledge of marketing and communication strategies, particularly those most commonly used in the HE sector.

Experience of developing and delivering successful communication strategies, digital media best practice, use and understanding of Content Management Systems, Google Analytics, editing/proof reading and digital marketing and evaluating marketing activity is essential to the role. You will also be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, excellent communication and the ability to think strategically.

This post is a full time opportunity and is based on the Hammersmith Hospital campus, with travel to other sites necessary on occasion.
