Applications are invited for the permanent post of Lecturer/Assistant Professor, UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering.

The UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering has a long and distinguished record of contribution and achievement in education and research. The School has an excellent international track record of research achievement across major fields within the discipline.

The School now wishes to make an academic appointment in Biosystems Engineering in the area of Sustainable Energy/Environmental Technology. The Lecturer/Assistant Professor post is a fulltime, permanent academic position in the School of Biosystems and Food Engineering. The successful candidate will hold a primary degree and a PhD in Biosystems Engineering or cognate discipline, and will have a proven track record in research and teaching. The successful candidate will play a key role in undergraduate and graduate teaching in the School. He/she will build a research team and will engage in winning research funding, fostering collaboration and enhancing the research outputs of the School. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to take on roles of responsibility assigned by the Head of School.

Applicants are required to submit in their applications a research statement (1-2 pages) outlining their future research plans and a teaching statement (1-2 pages) outlining their teaching philosophy and approach to teaching. Applications which do not include these statements will be deemed incomplete.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
