Math and Physics Tutor

Kaplan International Pathways - Nottingham Trent International College

We are looking for a permanent full-time tutor for Maths and Physics to join our teaching team at Nottingham Trent International College (NTIC). Established in 2005, the College is operated by Kaplan International Pathways, in partnership with Nottingham Trent University. It offers university preparation courses to prepare international students for entry to degree programmes at Nottingham Trent University and welcomes students from over 50 countries. As a Tutor for Maths and Physics, you would be responsible for:

  • Preparing and delivering modules in the relevant subject area (Maths and Physics) to international students studying on programmes offered by the College
  • Development of modules
  • Preparing module examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment, including re-sit examinations, marking and providing feedback to students
  • Partaking in standardisation and moderation processes, including double marking
  • Developing and maintaining the College’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), and facilitating student access to the VLE
  • Providing input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance and performance
  • Any other duties as required from time to time by the College Director, Academic Director and the Programme Leaders
About you:

  • To succeed in the role, you will enjoy working with international students, be customerorientated and performance driven and possess the following:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in a related subject area
  • Previous teaching experience in one of the relevant areas of expertise
  • The ability to develop and update teaching materials and experience working within a Virtual Learning Environment
  • Competence in teaching and administrative IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong record keeping skills
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to be a performance driven team player
  • Master’s degree or higher (desirable)

This appointment will be subject to clearance from the Disclosure Barring Service. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of DBS and professional reference checks. Applicants must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
