Lecturer in Sociology

University of Sussex - School of Law, Politics and Sociology/Department of Sociology

The Department of Sociology, within the School of Law, Politics and Sociology, is looking to recruit to a new permanent Lecturer post. This post will contribute to the delivery and further development of our portfolio of degrees and to our research culture and profile. The person appointed will have a specialism which extends or enhances our current key areas of sociological research and teaching.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to high quality teaching and research, and have evidence of a developing profile of research and publication in fields relevant to the post.

As a Department we support diversity and equal opportunities, and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. We would particularly encourage candidates from Black, Asian and/or other minority ethnic (BAME) backgrounds to apply for this post given that BAME staff are currently under-represented in our Department. All appointments will be made on merit.
