Opportunities at the University of Nottingham in Ningbo China

The post represents an exciting and unique opportunity for an established language teaching professional to join a strongly established Language Centre and to continue to contribute to its development and strength.  The post holder will be expected to play an important role in further contributing to the success of the Language Centre and to its contribution to the implementation of the University's strategic mission and vision.

Candidates must have a post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline and a proven track record of best practice in language teaching in one of the languages currently taught by the Centre. Effective leadership skills, communication and presentation skills in English and experience of teaching at degree level in an international English-speaking institution are also required.  Experience of leadership in the pedagogy of Mandarin Chinese is highly desirable.

Salary will be within the range RMB358,062 – RMB525,825per annum, depending on skills and experience.  Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance. In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

This post will be available from 1 November 2017 and will initially be offered on a fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of 5 years. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
