Summary:

Applications are invited for two Post-doctoral Research Associates, funded by the MRC. The posts are tenable from 1st October 2017, or as soon as possible thereafter, in the laboratory of Professor Simon Foster (s.foster@sheffield.ac.uk). As part of the posts, you will use an interdisciplinary approach to gain mechanistic understanding of how the human pathogen Staphylococcus aureus is able to cause disease and its interactions with other microorganisms. You will be involved in all aspects of the project and will use microbiological, biochemical, molecular genetic, imaging and in vivo models.

You will have a PhD in a relevant biological subject (or equivalent experience) and a proven track record of successful research in molecular microbiology, molecular genetics and biochemical approaches. Appropriate research experience and the ability to work as part of a team are also essential.

These posts are fixed term for 36 months.
