South West Nuclear Hub Technician

University of Bristol - School of Physics

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced technician to support teaching and research activity in the South West Nuclear Hub (the Hub).

The Hub (based in the University of Bristol’s School of Physics and launched in 2016) is a cross-faculty, civil nuclear energy focused programme of innovation, education and research. The Hub runs an MSc in Nuclear Science and Engineering. The role holder will provide technical support and guidance to the MSc students in their practical work and will work with the academics on a variety of research projects in the laboratories.

As a key member of the Hub team, the role holder will be a well organised individual who will have substantial varied technical experience within a science environment. Ideally they will have experience of working in a nuclear materials, physics or metallurgy background. This is an open-ended contract and the post is funded for 1 year in the first instance.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become involved with an exciting venture that is expected to flourish into a long term strategic University activity.

Informal enquiries to Mary Logan, Nuclear Hub Research Manager: mary.logan@bristol.ac.uk.

The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
