The Professor of Management is based in the School of Management one of six Schools in the College of Business (CoB) The School of Management comprises of 50 staff and delivers undergraduate programs in management, human resource management, international business and entrepreneurship and masters programs in human resource management and international business. These programs are delivered to over 5,000 students in Melbourne, Singapore, Shanghai, Vietnam and Jakarta. The School also has 60 PhD students.

The Role and Your Responsibilities
We are seeking a passionate academic leader who is currently making an impressive international research contribution in the area of People, Organisations and Work and is committed to developing the next generation of academics by providing leadership and mentoring to our Early Career Researchers and further enhancing the School’s research culture. We are looking for someone who can bring in research grants, whose research is applied and makes a difference and who can lead and develop research projects and research teams.

Educating the next generation is also a vital element of this role so we are looking for someone who is committed to high quality learning and teaching that is relevant and up to date in content and delivery; is underpinned by cutting edge research and aims to improve learning outcomes and employability for our students.

The Professor of Management is expected to make a significant contribution to the planning and strategic direction of the School through membership of the School Executive and providing academic leadership in various activities in the School, as well as across the College and University where appropriate. We are also looking for someone who can contribute to building our external profile.

Skills and Experience Required
Essential requirements for this role are evidence of demonstrated strategic leadership of a medium to large academic program or research team, together with a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field, an internationally recognised research track record and demonstrated expertise in learning and teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
