Catering General Assistant

The post holder will be required to work at the food outlets on The Vale Campus of the University of Birmingham, The Vale campus is part of the student residences and the catering team provide catering for over 1500 students each evening, over 7 days of the week. The post requires the candidate to work 5 days out of 7 on a 3 week rolling rota basis  between the hours of 3pm and 9pm in the week and between the hours of 10am and 8.30pm on the  weekend where the candidate will be expected to work in an orderly and efficient manner to the standards set by legislation/HAS and University policies and guidelines, specific duties will involve serving students and staff meals with excellent customer service along with associated tasks as required which will include, cleaning of kitchen and dining areas after service, working in the dishwasher area, working on the tills, cash handling and recording temperatures.

This role is for 30hrs per week over 33 weeks of the year which will consist of 31 weeks of term time and 2 additional weeks to help with events on the Vale Campus these weeks will be agreed at interview.

Training will be provided however Previous Customer service experience is essential for this role.
