Executive Assistant to the Head of the Social Sciences Division

We are seeking to recruit a full-time Executive Assistant to support the Head of the Social Sciences Division in the University of Oxford. The Social Sciences Division is a world-leading centre of research and education in the social sciences. 

The postholder will be required to develop a comprehensive understanding of the role and responsibilities of the Head of Division and will be responsible for ensuring the effective day-to-day organisation of the Head’s business. Specific duties include diary management; travel and other logistical arrangements; receiving visitors; email management; filing and archiving; communication support, including proofreading and drafting of documents and presentations; and maintaining filing systems. The postholder will work closely with colleagues within the Division and across the University.

The successful candidate will have a good first degree or equivalent and significant experience of acting as an Executive Assistant in a large complex organisation. The role requires excellent written communication skills; judgement; the ability to take independent action; interpersonal skills; and administrative and general office skills at the highest level.
