Research Grants Officer

Alzheimer’s Society

Alzheimer’s Society is looking for a talented individual with a head for science and a strong desire to make a difference for people affected by dementia.

By 2021, 1 million people will be living with the condition. Alzheimer’s Society is here for everyone affected by dementia – wherever they are, whatever they’re going through. We provide information and support, improve care, campaign for change and have committed to spend at least £150 million on new research over the next decade.

About the Role

Last year for the first time the Society spent £10 million on research activities. We’re keeping up the pace and have committed to spending £100 million over the next decade with an additional £50 million to the new Dementia Research Institute.

This increase in investment requires a strong team of Research Grants Officers to ensure that the Society invests this funding in the highest quality research with the greatest potential for people affected by dementia. We’re looking for an individual to join our Grants Team to take an active role in the selection of the grants we fund through our peer and lay review processes and supporting our funded researchers to manage their grants and maximise their impact.

You will have an interest in medical research and healthcare, and have some experience in research management, research administration or a similar role.
