Old Road Campus

Grade 8: £39,992 - £47,722 p.a. (pro rata for part-time)

The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The Clinical Trial Service Unit (CTSU) is a major international research institute within the NDPH, and is one of the world’s leading centres for research into chronic diseases, such as cancer and heart disease.

As Lead Monitor you will supervise all aspects of clinical trial monitoring for CTSU’s mega studies. The main focus of the role is to oversee the REVEAL study monitoring teams who conduct on-site visits in hospitals and clinics within the UK and internationally. Specifically, your key responsibilities will include training and mentoring the teams, analysing and evaluating activities and trends and developing strategic action plans for development and improvement. There will also be opportunities to work on some of CTSU’s other studies, with several new cardiovascular and renal studies in development.

To be considered for the Lead Monitor role you will need to be a nurse with a current UK NMC registration, or have a life sciences degree or equivalent experience. Previous experience of working as a clinical trial monitor is essential, as is a detailed knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines and regulations affecting clinical trials. You will also have strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and encourage others. Occasional travel within the UK and internationally will be required.

The post is full-time (part-time considered) and fixed-term for 2 years.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 11 October 2017.
