The Research Contracts team have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Officer to join them to play an important part in Contract management.

The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, LSTM aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.

The Research Contracts Department is seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Officer to support the team with all aspects of Research Contract Management, Policy and Support.

Working under the guidance of the Agreement and Contracts Manager, principal duties will focus on providing strong administrative support, reviewing, negotiating and executing a range of research governance contracts across LSTM.

The Research Contracts Officer will provide comprehensive advice associated to risk and liability and assist in the development of monitoring and auditing systems. Keeping abreast of legislative changes affecting practice; will contribute to the development of standard operating procedures, maintain up to date and accurate records and liaise with internal and external bodies and partners.

It is essential that candidates are qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a legal or business related field and possess at least 5 GCSEs at Grades C or above (or equivalent), including Maths and English Language. Desirably you will be confident in dealing with contract law, intellectual property management and commercialisation. Candidates will also be qualified by experience in a professional research contract related field, or ideally can provide evidence of continued professional development in Higher Education or similar environment.
