Senior Technician Design Software

We are looking to appoint a Software Technician to work within the faculty of Arts Design & Media at Birmingham City University. The purpose of the role is to provide demonstration and support with:

  • Digital design software
  • Graphics based software
  • Creative workflows in various mediums
  • Online database management

This will involve working closely with staff and students with the faculty to provide the best standard of teaching and support to students. There is a requirement to design and deliver workshops in various design software packages.

The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level and/or significant experience in, but not limited to, the following criteria

  • Adobe CC, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience in desktop printing
  • 2D Animation
  • Ability to present to large groups
  • MAC and PC experienced including installing and maintenance

Desirable Traits/Skills:

  • Adobe certification
  • Adobe ACA proctor
  • Adobe Premier
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Sketch Up
  • Preparing work for exhibitions
  • 3D Animation
