Student Immigration Compliance Officer

We are seeking two motivated and experienced individuals to support the Student Immigration & Compliance Services team within the wider Academic Services.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or above with previous experience in student immigration compliance, and be an enthusiastic, flexible and reliable team player, will have experience of working with international students within a professional setting and will have an up to date knowledge of current UKVI legislation relating to UK visas and immigration.

The post holder is required to contribute to the reviewing, development and strengthening of established systems, processes and practice in regards to sponsorship duties and responsibilities under Tier 4 of the Points Based System.. To act as the first point of contact offering guidance and support to colleagues across the university in relation to student immigration compliance.

The successful candidate must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and communicate complex legislation and government guidelines. In addition, the role holder must have an understanding and appreciation of the support needs of international students, cultural differences and have the ability to relate well to people from diverse cultural backgrounds and will have a proven record of working in a high pressure environment, preferably in higher education setting.

The ideal candidate must be computer literate with accurate keyboard skills and have knowledge of the Microsoft office systems and databases. Excellent communication, time-management and organisational skills are essential. Experience using SITS Student Records System would be an advantage.
