Salary: £26,052 to £28,452. With potential progression once in post to £32,004 a year

The International Students Advisory Service (ISAS) provides support and advice for prospective and current international students at the University of Birmingham.

As part of the team the Training & Compliance Support Officers play a key role working across campus to support the Training & Compliance Officer in the delivery of institutional processes and procedures in accordance with the University’s status as a Home Office Tier 4 Sponsor. Ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous improvement of supporting processes. They will also support in the management and delivery of high quality services to Colleges and Professional Services with regard to compliance activity. To support senior colleagues in the delivery of strategy, policies and procedures in relation to staff and student immigration advice, compliance with Home Office requirements.

To lead on provision of support for activities relating to Biometric Residents Permits throughout the year and develop, implement and monitor process to support the student experience and meet compliance obligations. To be responsible for the management and development of the University’s Visa Assessment process and to act as a primary contact for all staff enquiries.

They will support the Training & Compliance Officer in rolling out a process of light touch informative audit activity across the year including continuous review of processes. The post will require specialist (OISC level) knowledge of immigration rules to enable them to provide specific advice and guidance to the University.
