Test Facilities Engineer
Salary: £29,799 to £38,833 per annum

You will provide technical support and engage with academics, researchers, students and other staff within WMG, and external partners and organisations as required.
You will have experience of working within an advanced electron microscopy based characterisation centre, ideally with practical experience operating and maintaining transmission electron microscopes, scanning electron microscopes and focussed ion beam system. You will also be able to demonstrate a high level of competence with a wide range of material systems including steels, superalloys, coatings and composites.
Your excellent communication skills will enable you to confidently liaise with academics, students and other staff and external partners in the setting up, running and maintenance of state-of-the art- microscopes and developing the techniques that can be employed on them. You will also have a high level of health and safety awareness, to enable you to guide and supervise safe practice.
You will have a flexible approach to work, to meet the changing demands of research and industry collaboration, and, ideally, you will have successfully completed a PhD in a relevant discipline.
