Tutorial Administrator

An opportunity exists for a friendly and experienced team player to join our busy Tutorial Office. Working under the direction of the Tutorial Office Manager, in this varied and interesting role you will be responsible for administration for our undergraduate students. You will also provide secretarial support to the Directors of Studies and Tutors, and assist other members of the Tutorial Office team during busy times. Your duties will include assisting with arrangements for Freshers' Week, organising the induction for the new undergraduate intake each year, and arranging the annual Matriculation Dinner and Supervisors' Dinner, liaising closely with the Senior Tutor and staff in Catering Department. You will also deal with general enquiries by telephone, email and in person from students, Fellows, University and College staff and members of the public, and assist in maintaining and updating the Tutorial pages of the College website.

To be successful in this role you will have strong organisational and time-management skills, and the ability to prioritise your work to meet tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate with people confidently, courteously and helpfully to all enquiries on the telephone and face to face are essential. You will also have diplomacy to deal with confidential and personal matters with students, staff and academic staff, and strong IT skills, using the Microsoft Office packages.

  • Hours of work: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with some flexibility on start/finish times
  • Salary: £22,192 per annum
