UCL Institute of Neurology - Dementia Research Centre (DRC)

Applications are invited for a Research Assistant to join the Dementia Research Centre (DRC), an established and internationally regarded multi-disciplinary research group.   The post-holder will be part of a research programme dedicated to the detailed characterization of frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and its associated disorders: motor neurone disease, corticobasal syndrome and progressive supranuclear palsy. The programme aims to provide the evidence base for future clinical trials in this important condition.

The post-holder will assist with the co-ordination of the studies, including assisting with arrangement of study participant visits and management of data collected from participants taking part in this project. The post-holder will also participate in the neuropsychological testing of participants.

Candidates must have a degree (minimum Upper Second) in Psychology, Neuroscience or related discipline, have IT proficiency at advanced user level and possess good inter-personal skills with an ability to work co-operatively in a multidisciplinary setting.  Candidates must have experience of neuropsychological testing, an understanding of research and clinical trial methodology and a commitment to supporting high quality dementia research.

The post is available from October 2017 and is funded by the Association for FTD for one year in the first instance.  Starting salary on the UCL Grade 6b in the range £30,316 to £31,967 pa (including London Allowance)
