Applications are invited for the post of Primary Care Faculty Development Lead

The purpose of the role is to support the Department of Primary Care and Public Health and the Faculty Development Manager in providing a link with our community teachers. This involves recruitment, support, retention and development for our GP teachers in the community who teach on our undergraduate GP teaching attachments for the MBBS course at Imperial College London run by the Department of Primary Care and Public Health. You will also be required to teach and develop the content for our bi monthly teacher training courses, help in the delivery of teaching within the Department of Primary Care and Public Health and be the academic mentor for GP trainees that rotate through the department.

The appointee will be based at the Charing Cross campus (located in Hammersmith) for part of the time, as a member of the Department of Primary Care and Public Health and will be expected to participate generally in the department’s activities and may take on other duties in agreement with the Director of Undergraduate Primary Care Education. The other part of the post will involve being out in the community engaging with our GP teachers. The appointee will also be expected to continue to work part time as a GP and will help in acting as a link between the department and the 200 or so GP teachers teaching in the community.

Applicants should have an MRCGP or other higher medical qualification (e.g. MRCP, MFPH), and experience of working in general practice. Full GMC registration is essential.

This post is part time (14 hours per week) for a fixed term of 12 months.
