The Faculty is home to four Schools and Departments providing specialist and interdisciplinary teaching, research and knowledge transfer across a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes spanning a wide range of disciplines including but not limited to: architecture, arts, digital media, engineering, computing and mathematics.

There is a wide range of staff development opportunities, and a challenging and interesting variety of work in this role.

The overall purpose of the post is to lead the work of a Programme Administration team providing comprehensive administrative support to the assigned programme portfolio and ensuring a high quality student experience.

You will be:

  • Line-managing a programme team
  • Responsible for administrative systems to provide a high quality student experience whilst ensuring efficient and cost-effective services
  • Overseeing the provision of a high level of service for prospective and current students
  • Responsible for faculty based elements of student recruitment and appropriate admissions procedures, student induction, and student examination and progression
  • Overseeing effective administration of relevant committees and to provide advice and support to Exam and Programme Committee Processes.

You should have:

  • A levels or significant equivalent experience
  • Significant demonstrable administrative experience
  • Good knowledge and understanding of HE systems and procedures for academic and student support
  • The ability to work effectively on own initiative and across the wider University to achieve team goals, influencing academic and senior staff
  • Good team motivation skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to problem solve
  • The ability to promote a service orientated approach within teams, in response to student and stakeholder needs
  • Demonstrable IT skills with the ability to use software packages appropriate to an office environment
  • Supervisory experience of staff is essential, line management experience is desirable.
