Part time, 0.4 FTE

About Anglia Ruskin University:
Anglia Ruskin is a vibrant workplace and our University is gaining prominence both nationally and internationally. We have ambitious plans for the future and we are determined that our students and staff will realise their full potential. Our main campuses in the cities of Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough have been transformed with major capital investment. With an annual turnover of over £200m, we are a major force for higher education and one of the largest universities in the East of England.

About the role:
In partnership with the Forces in Mind Trust (FiMT), our University is to establish a new research centre to provide decision makers and opinion formers at all levels with the best available evidence on aspects pertaining to UK ex-Service personnel and their families. The FiMT Research Centre (FiMT RC) will be embedded in the Veterans and Families Institute (VFI); an institute with a growing international reputation and output. The VFI sits within the Faculty of Health, Social Care & Education, which itself has a track record in research that informs health and social care policy and practice.

Working closely with FiMT, the Director of the FiMT RC and senior research and policy leaders across the sector, the post holder will lead on developing FiMT’s research portfolio and impact through collaboration, advice, and stakeholder engagement. This is an opportunity for a self-motivated individual to work in an important area of research with the potential to generate real-world impact.

Educated to doctoral level in a relevant discipline, the post holder will have a track record of published research and research leadership, external stakeholder engagement and influence, and a demonstrable interest in military veterans and their families. Providing excellence in leadership, the post holder will help to develop research staff within the FiMT RC and will enhance the conduct and application of research across the veterans and families sector.

Interviews will be held on 16 October 2017.

Informal enquiries can be made to Alex Cooper - or 01245 683007.

We value diversity at Anglia Ruskin University and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
