Since its establishment in 2011, Research & Enterprise has supported growth in activity and impact such as a doubling in external bidding activity and HEBCI related income and a fivefold increase in student employability interactions. The University has changed significantly during this period and with the development and implementation of a new University Strategic Plan responding to a changing external environment (e.g. Brexit, UKRI etc.) we now have exciting opportunities to create a new model of support for our customers.

This position will lead on developing our research environment, with a focus on ensuring appropriate Research Conduct and Governance. The post holder will direct and have oversight for the support of REF & Impact, the new Institute for Advanced Studies, new Doctoral School, researcher training & development and research data analysis. He/She will direct the development and delivery of impact support programmes for academic colleagues, including delivery of an Institutional support strategy as we head toward REF2021. This will include close working with College Directors of Research, Planning and Business Intelligence on the analysis, reporting and underpinning of research developments in the lead up to REF2021 and beyond, using analysis tools such as SciVal.
