Senior Lecturer in Biomedicine

Lancaster University - Biomedical & Life Science

Lancaster University has a world-class reputation as a centre for excellence in teaching and research. It is highly ranked in each of the UK’s major university league tables. The Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences, within the Faculty of Health and Medicine, now seeks to enhance its already strong profile of excellence by appointing a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer.

Research areas include, but are not limited to, infectious diseases, parasitology, neurodegeneration, mental health, ageing, immunology and cancer biology.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who will participate fully in the intellectual and collective life of the Division and who will maintain a high quality research agenda that reaches out to external networks of collaborators. You should have publications at a level appropriate for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 and beyond. You should also be enthusiastic and keen to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at a level appropriate to the post you are applying for.

In return the Division can offer you a friendly research environment that strongly supports the individual needs of each employee and which actively promotes a healthy work-life balance. The Faculty is committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies and has held a Silver Athena SWAN award since 2014 in recognition of its good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research.
