Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Greek History and Culture within the UCD School of Classics.

The UCD School of Classics is looking to appoint a lecturer/assistant professor in the area of Greek history and culture to contribute to the BA programme in Greek and Roman Civilization, the taught MA in Classics, and the supervision of MLitt and PhD research students. The School is committed to the highest standards of teaching, learning, and student development in a research-informed environment, and it is expected that applicants will have a proven record of research activity, high-impact publications, and a commitment to teaching excellence. The appointee will participate in teaching across the full range of taught programmes in the School of Classics, contributing to curriculum design and delivery in the area of Greek history and culture, above all the Classical period. It is expected that the person appointed will enhance the School’s research profile, maintaining a track record of publication in leading international journals and other high-impact outlets, developing collaborative networks in Ireland and abroad, and engaging actively in initiatives to secure external research funding and to recruit MLitt or PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. It is also expected that the successful candidate will contribute to administration and strategic planning to support the mission of the School, the College, and the University.

95 Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale: €51,807-€79,194 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
