Bartlett Systems Administrator

This is a one year post to deliver the IT services supporting the Faculty’s Research, Learning & Teaching, and Administrative functions. The post holder will provide expert technical support for the Faculty’s research computing, manage the relationship with customers/colleagues within the Faculty, and have the necessary technical expertise to deliver operational support and drive forward improvements. The role holder will be expected to take ownership of issues that have been assigned to them by the Faculty IT Manager or by other parts of Faculty as appropriate.

The post holder will cover all the sites occupied by the various departments within the Faculty, including providing cover as required for the Here East site located on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Of graduate calibre with degree or equivalent experience, the successful applicant will have specialist expertise in any several of the following Linux, Windows, and Mac OS, with previous knowledge and experience of ITIL v3 service management framework.

The post holder will be expected to possess a broad understanding of, and to have specialisms in, a number of the following core IT client service competencies, including: networking; high performance computing; client devices; mobile and remote computing inc. Laptops, Tablet PCs, smartphones, and Remote access technologies. They will require an excellent working knowledge of common application packages, e.g. Microsoft Office, Anti-Virus packages, CAD, Image processing, and large format printing.
