The University of Surrey’s, School of Veterinary Medicine offers exciting opportunities for an experienced equine veterinary surgeon with enthusiasm for sharing their experience, knowledge and clinical skills with our Veterinary Undergraduates.

Successful candidates will be RCVS-registered, ideally with relevant postgraduate qualifications to complement existing staff in their ability to deliver high quality teaching across the veterinary curriculum. The School offers state of the art teaching facilities including a dedicated large animal Clinical Skills teaching centre and an extensive pathology service. We offer scope to work with the Equine Clinical Lead to develop and shape teaching in key areas of our curriculum, and through engagement with the authentic work-based learning environments within our partner network. The post-holder(s) will join an active Department which acknowledges and funds the need for CPD and the maintenance of skills.

The School of Veterinary Medicine follows a distributed model for final year teaching. We are actively partnered with leading Equine Practices and Research Institutes. Our first cohort of students enter final year in July 2018. Clinicians and scientists from Partner organisations actively participate in teaching across the undergraduate curriculum and in postgraduate training for staff and CPD delegates.

This position is available either as a full-time Teaching Fellowship / Senior Teaching Fellowship within the School of Veterinary Medicine, or for suitably qualified applicants(ECVS/ACVS Boarded/Board-Eligible Equine Surgeons), there may be unique opportunities for split appointments (part-time employment in each) between the University and our partner equine practice; CVS Valley Equine Hospital, Lambourn. VEH is a leading provider of referral services across a broad clientele including a significant racing caseload.
