Sustainability Adviser

FTE: This is a full time position working 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

The University of Hertfordshire is looking for someone who has experience of working in sustainability role combined with a proven ability to effectively deliver projects and programmes of work.  You will lead on the maintenance of the ISO 140001 /Eco-campus management system and work collaboratively across the institution to drive environmental improvements. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, critical thinker, who understands the complex interactions of all elements of sustainability and how this brings challenges and opportunities for the University and wider society.

Within this role, you will help shape what the University looks like within the period of the University’s Strategic plan up to 2020.

We are looking for someone who has significant experience of working in a sustainability role combined in a complex organisation with a proven ability to effectively deliver projects and programmes of work. You will lead our reporting and auditing work in this area.

Educated to degree standard or equivalent in a relevant Environmental/Sustainability related subject.

The post reports to the Director of Health, Safety and Workplace Wellbeing. The main focus of the post is to provide professional and technical leadership to implement and deliver the University’s sustainability and environment agenda.
