In this role you will conduct neuroscience research into presynaptic and postsynaptic mechanisms of brainstem auditory processing, primarily using electrophysiology techniques, but also including imaging and molecular methods. A particular focus of the project is on the Medial Nucleus of the Trapezoid Body (MNTB) and Calyx of Held and other nuclei in the superior olivary complex.

You will take a leading role in developing research and experimental design aimed at reaching the goals of the research project in collaboration with the PI, technician and PhD students.

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in neuroscience, or a related subject with a good background in analysis and statistics. You will be experienced in whole cell patch recording and presynaptic recording from the calyx of Held. You will also be able to evidence the ability to deliver research results to rapid publication in recent past.
