Simulated Patient Coordinator (Part Time)

Applications are invited for the post of Simulated Patients Coordinator within the Education Division team based in the School of Clinical Medicine on the Addenbrooke's Hospital site. This is a varied and interesting post that requires the successful candidate to be flexible as well as a committed member of a friendly and well-organised team. The post supports the administration of the Clinical Communication Skills team with all aspects of the delivery of its programme.

The Simulated Patients (SP) Coordinator is a key role within the CCS Department, providing administrative and training support to the Clinical Communication Tutor & Senior Simulated Patients Coordinator (0.6WTE) already in place. The Department is primarily concerned with training and providing roleplayers (aka 'simulated patients') to roleplay patients/relatives/other healthcare professionals for the following clinical courses.

The post holder will work closely with simulated patients, senior academics, clinical and administrative staff throughout the Clinical School.

Qualifications and Experience to include:

  • Educated to GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics
  • High standard of IT skills including word-processing (minimum RSA III or equivalent), E-mail, database, spreadsheet experience (Microsoft Office preferred)
  • The ability to acquire skills for non-standard software applications such as 'CamSIS'
  • Web-authoring skills and experience
  • Accurate, well organized, have good communication skills and the ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Previous experience of working within an office environment
