Three Research Associates in Functionalised Nanomaterials for Biosensing Applications

The Department of Materials wishes to appoint three Research Associates to work on the design and synthesis of nanomaterials for applications in biosensing and regenerative medicine. These posts are based within the Biomaterials group at Imperial College London, working with Professor Molly Stevens and involve collaborations with a number of other internationally recognised (nano)materials research groups. The Stevens Group has received numerous awards for outstanding biomaterials related research ( and comprises a very international and multidisciplinary group of Research Fellows and PhD students.

The will design and syntehsise/engineer innovative nanomaterial-based systems for biosensing target analytes and biomarkers. You will be expected to fully characterize these structurally using state-of-the-art imaging techniques within our labs and through collaborations and evaluate their potential for use in lateral flow or point-of-care devices. You will be a conscientious, innovative experimental scientist who has successfully completed a PhD (or equivalent) in chemistry, nanomaterials, nanotechnology, or an engineering discipline or similar. Experience in nanomaterials research, such as their characterisation and functionalisation, as well as their applications in biosensing are essential.
