Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor to join the University, reporting directly to the President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Keith Burnett.

The role of Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor was created to ensure that the University has sufficient executive capacity to advance its ambitious agenda both externally through the President and Vice-Chancellor, and internally through the Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, who will provide leadership of an ambitious change programme, delivery of University strategy and oversight of the majority of University business. The role provides an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious individual to assume significant responsibility supporting the President and Vice-Chancellor in the running of a prestigious Russell Group University, working to drive improvement and innovation, to advance scholarship and ensure a sustainable platform for the future.

The successful candidate will be an experienced academic leader with a proven track record in high-quality teaching and research, well-able to deliver significant programmes of improvement and change against agreed aims and values. Candidates will have experience as inspiring and creative leaders with successful track records in change management and in driving performance of research, learning, & teaching and leadership activities. The successful candidate must also be able to recognise potential opportunities and solutions across the University whilst being a decisive and inclusive leader.  An excellent academic track record, with an international standing and significant evidence of external recognition are also important.
