About the Post

The Deputy Finance Director is a senior professional role overseeing all financial accounting and transaction processing operations across the University. You will be responsible for the production of annual financial statements, other financial and taxation regulatory returns as required and for periodic financial management reports. You will ensure the maintenance of a system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and support compliance with external regulation and legislation as well as enabling the production of timely financial reporting.

You will support and deputise for the Chief Financial Officer and will work closely with the Vice Chancellor, Senior Leadership Team, internal and external stakeholders to contribute to the strategic policy making and corporate management of the University.

You will be responsible for leading a team that ensures the University complies with the relevant accounting principles that govern the organisation. The team has a wide range of stakeholders who rely on it for timely, accurate and appropriate work. You will integrate the team, support and guide its work and inspire a high level of performance.
