Applications are invited for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate position to work with Professor Leonid Parnovski and Professor Alexander Sobolev on the project `Stable and unstable almost-periodic problems’. Duties and responsibilities include carrying out vigorous, high-level research into periodic and quasi-periodic problems, submitting publications regularly in refereed journals and participating in national and international conference. The role also includes teaching one undergraduate level course per year, writing and marking the exam and carrying out other examination duties as instructed by head of department.

Candidates should have a PhD and research background in mathematics or physical sciences. It is essential that the successful candidate will have experience in the spectral analysis of differential and/or finite-difference operators. Candidates will be required to demonstrate teaching capability at undergraduate level and have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
