CLOSER Full Stack Developer

CLOSER creates software for a consortium of universities entering and managing metadata for UK’s leading longitudinal studies. All of our software is released as open-source and therefore requires continual maintenance. The post holder will be responsible for developing new features for Archivist, CLOSER's metadata enhancement service. The post holder may be asked to present their work to both internal and external audiences including international conferences. The post holder is expected to pay close attention to open issues and resolve issues in a timely manner.

The post is available immediately and funded to 30 September 2019 in the first instance.

The successful candidate will have a degree or higher degree in a computationally based field, or equivalent professional experience. Significant experience in software development and the ability to rapidly acquire fluent knowledge of new programming languages (Ruby (2.X) and JavasScript/CoffeeScript) , libraries and platforms are essential requirements of the post.

An understanding of commercial aspects of the software industry, with experience of organisations of multiple maturity levels and sizes is desirable.
