Lecturer in Criminology/Forensic Investigation

Applications are invited from ambitious, innovative individuals who wish to join our well-established criminal justice team. We are looking to appointment two individuals on the lecturer scale and welcome applicants who can deliver on either criminology or forensic investigation modules, or alternatively across both subject areas. Both posts are full time, permanent positions, based at the University’s Canterbury campus.

The Role

Whilst the School is willing to consider applicants who can enhance provision across all aspects of both programme areas, those able to lead on Youth Crime and/or Forensic Science and/or Specialist Forensic Disciplines, will be received favourably.


Experience of teaching at HE level is desirable, but comparable attributes and an ability to demonstrate the qualities to teach at HE level will be considered. It is essential that the successful post holders will also be able to demonstrate a keen interest in the student experience and will be expected to lead on developing student opportunities, volunteering, trips and placements.

Appropriate practitioner experience and/or appropriate research experience is also essential.
