Global Respiratory Health Research Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic Global Respiratory Health Research Manager for this exciting and varied post based within the Usher Institute at the University of Edinburgh. The post holder will be responsible for the set up and day-to-day management of this global respiratory research programme of work and will include liaison with colleagues in Edinburgh, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia and Pakistan. The post-holder will be expected to operate at a senior level to plan, develop and manage the administrative aspects of this unit and manage and support junior staff.

The successful candidate will have a PhD (or near completion) or MSc in a health or social science discipline (or able to demonstrate a strong, relevant academic background). A substantial senior-level project management experience in an academic environment including experience of financial and staff management with a demonstrable understanding of research methods in healthcare is also essential.  Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work independently, and as part of a team, are all required for the post.

The post is full-time (35 hours per week), available from November 2017 to 31st March 2021.
