Research Officer - DFT Modelling

Swansea University - Engineering

Main Purpose of the Post

The posts require highly motivated individuals to conduct research on the scale-up of the production of size-controlled clusters and their deposition onto supports. Specifically DFT modelling of cluster-support interactions. The scale-up technology has been invented by the host group, i.e., the Matrix Assembly Cluster Source (MACS).

The work is funded by an EPSRC Fellowship Grant awarded to the PI (REP) and is expected to involve collaboration with Teer Coatings of Droitwich, an instrument company, Oxford University, for aberration-corrected TEM, and with several collaborating applications (notably catalysis) and modelling groups. All posts will be based in Swansea but may involve secondment to Teer Coatings (Droitwich), Oxford or applications groups.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should be directed to Professor Richard Palmer at R.E.Palmer@swansea.ac.uk.
