About Anglia Ruskin University:

Anglia Ruskin is a vibrant workplace and our University is gaining prominence both nationally and internationally. We have ambitious plans for the future and we are determined that our students and staff will realise their full potential. Our main campuses in the cities of Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough have been transformed with major capital investment. With an annual turnover of over £200m, we are a major force for higher education and one of the largest universities in the East of England.

About the role:

The Faculty of Arts, Law and Social Sciences is home to first class teaching and research across a wide range of both traditional and contemporary disciplines, grouped into schools or departments of Law, Art, Music and Performing Arts, History and Social Sciences, and English and Media. All of our courses are committed to the mutual reinforcement of theory and practice, and are grounded in our academics’ innovative and internationally recognised research. Over recent years our Faculty has seen significant growth in student numbers, and has expanded into new curriculum areas.

As part of our ongoing development there is now an opportunity to join the Faculty senior management team as Deputy Dean (Research, Innovation and Partnerships). We're looking for an ambitious individual who seeks a challenging academic environment and wants to make a significant contribution to further developing our world leading research and its wider impact. You'll provide strong leadership in support of our vision, and will be responsible for supporting the Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean in the development, planning and implementation of our research and innovation development strategy, and the development of our external partnerships.

You'll be an experienced academic manager, with a clear understanding of the challenges facing higher education in the United Kingdom, and an international profile and scholarly reputation. You'll have excellent interpersonal, communication, creative and networking skills with the ability to build and nurture external contacts to the benefit of the faculty.

Please note that a professorial appointment will be considered for suitable candidates who meet our criteria.

Potential applicants are encouraged to arrange an informal discussion of the post with Professor Martin Hewitt, PVC and Dean, Faculty of Arts Law and Social Sciences, via Kumkum Kataria, kumkum.kataria@anglia.ac.uk, 01223 363271.
