Salary: £27,285 to £28,936 (PhD not awarded)
           £29,799 to £38,833 (PhD awarded)

We are seeking to appoint a researcher to work in the laboratory with Dr Thomas Penfold in the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences on the development of charge mobility.

The project will combine the expertise in kinetic Monte Carlo (Groves) and Molecular and quantum dynamics simulations (Penfold) to simulate charge mobility at interfaces of complex systems, such as a dye-semiconductor interface. You will develop model potential energy surfaces for quantum dynamics simulations as well as setting up and testing kinetic Monte Carlo for device simulations.

You should have expertise in quantum chemistry calculations and experience in computer programming language, together with a high degree of organisation, practical skills in computational chemistry and excellent record keeping and data analysis. A PhD (awarded or near completion) in the area of computational or theoretical chemistry/physics or a related discipline is required.

The post is available fixed term for 24 months and is full time
